Ingredients

  • Snack size pretzels
  • Some melting candy
  • Christmas colored chocolate pieces

Directions

  1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper
  2. Unwrap your melting candy and place on a pretzel
  3. Bake in a warming/warm oven until candy is beginning to melt
  4. Remove from oven and place chocolate piece on top

Step by Step Directions

Line a baking tray with parchment paper (you can bake directly on the tray but it will stick). Unwrap your candy, if necessary, and then either place your pretzel rings around the outside of the candy, or place your candy on top of the pretzel. The goal is to have the chocolate melt into the holes that are present.

You can either have your oven preheated, or you can place them in a cold oven and begin heating to some temperature. You only want to bake the chocolates until they are starting to lose their integrity, you don’t want them to caramelize.

Now quickly, after pulling out your chocolates, place a chocolate piece (you know they are a name brand but they aren’t giving me any money so why say their name) on the now melted peak of your other chocolates (that also have a name brand but again no money for me). The chocolate piece should be able to be pushed down into your melty chocolate with no resistance.

Now allow your pretzel bites to cool.

Enjoy.

Variations

  • Change up your candy selection. I personally like the coloring on these, makes them seem fancier than they are. But I have seen these done with regular/non striped chocolates, chocolates with caramels on the inside, mint and chocolate flavored bars. Basically anything you would like with a pretzel.
  • Change the shape of your pretzel, I used rings here, but you can use the normal criss crossed ones as well, just something to melt the chocolate on.

Unsolicited Feedback

  • AR: You should have just brought napkins like last year.
  • DS: Do you have anything healthier?
  • ML: Did you actually bake these or just put them in the microwave?
