Ingredients

  • Your favorite box cake mix
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil (vegetable, canola, butter)
  • 2 eggs

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together until combined
  2. Scoop cookie dough onto a baking sheet
  3. Bake for 10-15 minutes in a 350 degree oven

Step By Step Directions

Pour your cake mix, cracked eggs and cooking oil into a bowl.

You can also start preheating your oven at this point, everything will come together quickly.

Mix all the ingredients together. This batter should be noticeably thicker than a cake mix. If you feel like it is too thick then add a splash of water, but remember, this is for cookies, not cake.

You can freeze the dough ahead of time and it will allegedly spread more evenly. I know it’s only supposed to be for certain kinds of cookies and not others, it might be a bunch of bull, do whatever you want, it’s cake mix, it’s going to taste good.

I made a dozen cookies, you can make two dozen, you can shoot for 18 but end up making 17, it’s up to you, just make sure they have enough room on your baking tray.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes depending on the size of your cookies.

Enjoy.

Variations

  • Try any variation of cake mix you like. What’s your favorite? Do you like weird colors (lemon cake/red velvet), interesting flavors (cookies and creme/funfetti), do you want to combine flavors (marble cookies)?
  • Make normal cookies
  • Make a normal cake
  • Frost the cookies, add sprinkles, add candy. Anything you can do to a cookie or a cake can be done here
  • Freeze/refrigerate the dough before baking, this will lead to a more even spread on the cookies

Unsolicited Feedback

  • ML: What are you? Too good for a normal cake?
  • AF: Did you just not have enough eggs to make the recipe on the box?
  • EC: Red velvet cookies? This is the best day of my life!
